Retreat Expectations
SOME EXPECTATIONS RELATED TO LIABILTY
- Must stay on site & no guests
- No alcohol or drugs
- No pranks
- Use your common sense and follow general safety guidelines when enjoying the retreat center property
- Cell phones/use should not detract from engagement with other scholars, even during “free” time
- Designated free time is meant for active engagement with others … recognize this might mean stepping out of your comfort zone and may take effort to engage with others –do it anyway!
- “Free” time/bonding time should be spent in the meeting room, the Cedar porch or in an outside area accessible to everyone in the group –this is not the time for exclusive sub-cliques to hang out inside the lodging areas
- As such, lodging building interiors and private rooms are off-limits to anyone except the individuals assigned there
- You are expected to manage your sleep so that you are alert/prepared and on-time for all Sunday morning sessions/activities
- Do not bring anything valuable (electronics, computers, jewelry)
- We are both staying at a Christian retreat center and representing student leadership at Saint Leo University, all behaviors and actions should reflect that
- Think about what you want to get from the retreat & seek that out
- Think about what you can contribute to the retreat & make it happen
- Help make this first annual LEAD Scholars overnight retreat the gold standard to emulate in future years!
